Last year, over 300 residents came together for the second People’s State of the City which aimed to reflect the realities and voices of Long Beach residents.

This year, we’ll:
* Look at how we’ve made progress on key issue areas that matter to Long Beach residents, such as: Housing, Jobs, Education, Healthy and Safe Neighborhoods, Environmental Health, and Immigrant Rights
* Connect and engage with residents and organizations around a plan to ensure that everyday residents are heard and represented in Long Beach

This community forum is being organized and co-sponsored by Long Beach Rising, a coalition of organizations including:

VoiceWaves

VoiceWaves is a Long Beach youth-led journalism and media-training project. The youth, ages 16-24, are learning to report, write, and create digital journalism content. Their reports will raise awareness of community health issues and activate change.
