Television’s New Name in Long Beach: PADNET

In a city without it’s own local television station and only one Long Beach-based radio station, local media coverage is sparse. Now comes along Public Access Digital Network (PADNET). This is the 2.0 reincarnation of the old Public Access on Cable Television. This time, however, it’s back in a new form. Long Beach Community Action Partnership is the nonprofit organization charged by the city to manage the new network. VoiceWaves Patrick Moreno spoke with the Partnership’s Executive Director, Darick Simpson, about the new network and a Youth Media project called L.A.M.P.
